The surgical patients featured on this web site are all patients who have been operated on by Dr. Kamran S. Jafri. All procedures were performed utilizing local anesthesia and in some cases a mild sedative was used as requested. The patients have given permission for their photos to be used to help educate and provide insight for others. The descriptive statements and photographs do not constitute a warranty or prediction of the outcome for your individual surgical procedures. Not all patients can achieve the results depicted.
Please note that pictures are presented in a Clinical manner so as to provide accurate and ethical Surgical outcomes (ie. Patients asked not to smile since this distorts the Facial Muscles resulting in inaccurate views of the results, no professional photography/ makeup)

Effective Fat Removal : Liposuction is not always the best option
This Patient initially sought consultation to have a liposuction done under his chin. However, after examining him it was recommended that he have a lipectomy instead. While the incision was slightly larger, it was easily hidden within a natural crease. A liposuction would not have been adequate for his anatomy and the only way to effectively remove the excess fat and provide definition to his neck was with a lipectomy. Results were very pleasing and highly effective. Additional Recommendations: SPF, Retin-A
Turkey Neck
This patient had a history of weight loss and as a result developed a "turkey neck". Since her jaw line already had a nice appearance attention was focused on the "turkey neck" only. By utilizing a platysmaplasty with lipectomy, a very pleasing result was obtained. Additional Recommendations: Retin-A, SPF & moisturizers, Light Chemical Peel
Lateral Neck Lift : Small Incision, Big Result
This patient was concerned mainly about the appearance of her neck under her chin and along her jawline. While a Necklift / Platysmaplasty would appear to have offered an effective solution, close examination revealed that her anatomy would be more effectively addressed with a Lateral Neck Lift. With this procedure, small incisions are used and are easily hidden behind the ear. No other incisions are needed. The Lateral Neck Lift allowed for excellent surgical elevation and correction of the weakened muscles that caused the poor definition of her neck. Results are long lasting since Cranial Suspension Techniques can also be utilized behind the ear. Additional recommendations: Retin-A, Fillers
Platysmaplasty : addressing muscle bands in a subtle way
This Patient did not like how the muscle bands in her neck (platysma muscle) were becoming more and more apparent. She was noticing how pronounced they were when her neck was turned in different positions (noticed especially in photos). A Platysmaplasty was performed to provide a nice, smooth contour to her neck. The only incision was under the chin - no incisions behind the ear were needed. Additional Recommendations: SPF, Daily Moisturizer, Retin-A
Men : Neck Bands & Loose Skin
This gentleman had previously undergone a "necklift" procedure at another Medical Facility. He was not pleased with the results he obtained. Based on his anatomy and physical examination a platysmaplasty was recommended and performed. Happily, the patient was ultimately able to achieve the results he had originally desired. Additional Recommendations: SPF & moisturizers, Fillers for corner of Mouth and Cheek Wrinkles
Short Scar Facelift : Loose Skin Under Chin & Jaw
This patient desired to have an improvement in her jaw line and the "extra skin" under her chin. She was a very good candidate for a Short Scar Facelift / MACS. All of her areas of concern were addressed in a very elegant and straightforward approach. Note the subtle yet very pleasing improvement in her anterior neck definition and in the wrinkle by the side of her mouth. Additional Recommendations: Retin-A, SPF & moisturizers, Chemical Peel, Fillers
Improving Neck / Profile Definition - Subtle but effective
On initial exam, this patient would appear to be a candidate for liposuction of the chin only. However, on closer exam it was clear she would need a platysmaplasty procedure in order to improve the definition of her cervico-mental angle (the angle where the top of the neck and area under the chin meet). This highlights the importance of expert understanding of facial and neck anatomy prior to selecting the best procedure for a patient. If only a liposuction had been done, this patient would not have obtained the subtle but effective improvement in her neck that she desired.
Necklift : Making a short neck look long & defined
In meeting with this patient I advised her that given her anatomy a platysmaplasty with chin implant would help obtain the best results for her. However, she was not interested in having a chin implant and therefore only a platysmaplasty was done in order to help provide more definition and an improvement in her neck profile. Of technical importance was to make sure that sub-platysmal fat was also removed to get the best results possible. Additional Recommendations: Chemical Peel, Chin Implant, Retin-A
Wrinkley Neck
This Patient was concerned about her muscle bands and "wrinkely neck". A Platysmaplasty was perfomed to improve the muscle bands. Due to the weakness of her neck skin a Lateral Neck Lift was also done to improve the wrinkley and loose skin. Incisions were limited to under the chin and behind the ears. Additional Recommendations: Retin-A and topical creams to improve skin tone
Muscle Bands in Neck / Turkey Neck
This Patient did not like the appearance of her neck because of the muscle bands and loose skin. Due to her overall good skin tone a Platysmaplasty by itself was able to correct all of her concerns. Additional Recommendations: Retin-A and topical creams to maintain good skin tone.
